Maria does excellent work at reasonable prices. Whether she's hemming my husband's pants or completely re-working a horrible bridesmaids' dress, Maria is a pro. She's kind, but also honest -- if she thinks the alteration you're requesting won't work or will end up being unflattering, she'll say so, which I appreciate so I'm not wasting my money on lost causes. I've been going to her for years and there's no one I'd trust more with a tricky fix or ambitious dressmaking project, but I still take her simple hem jobs because I know she'll do quality work and won't overcharge me. She's the best!

She is absolutely awesome. Terrific work at reasonable cost. For years I have bought suit separates since standard suits have a 6" spread between jacket size and pants size. I wear a 42 short jacket and historically size 38 trousers. However, she took the size 36 trousers from several suits and suddenly they fit with room to spare. She is priceless.

I have had many items altered at Rose Custom Dressmaking and Alternations. She is an amazing seamstress. A great eye to see exactly what needs to be done to fit the dress. I brought in two very expensive dresses and she was able to alter both so that they actually fit perfectly, noting the sleeve needed to be taken up and other details that I had not considered. Her pricing is reasonable and her work is well worth the cost! I am so glad that I found this person and would recommend her to anyone.

I had a bridesmaid dress altered here recently. She shortened the length and had to bring the whole thing in at least a size. She took her time pinning it and it turned out fabulous. When she asked when I needed it by we decided she'd have it ready in 1 week exactly. I arrived early that afternoon to pick it up and she hadn't altered it yet due to being too busy. She asked me to come back that evening and stayed late to have it ready. When I showed back up again I was very happy with how it had turned out. Although I was frustrated by the inconvenience of my first unnecessary trip to pick up my dress, she gave me $20 off the original price so it cost me $80 for the alterations. Next time I'll know to call before I leave to be sure it's ready, but as for the quality workmanship...amazing!

The owner is incredibly talented. I go to her with all my shopping mistakes--items that I have bought because they were on sale but that really did not fit very well. She has been able to transform them all so they fit me perfectly. Some of the alterations have required complex changes to the shoulders or shape of the garments.
